The Park is an non-profit making entity set up to be a vital agent in the promotion of economic development in the region of Girona based on knowledge and technology, to contribute to the attraction, creation and development of highly innovative businesses, spin-offs and start-ups based on technology and knowledge, those reliant on R+D, especially those of the Universitat de Girona, promoting the transfer of knowledge they generate and their structures of support for innovation. It encourages the interaction and relation between these agents and those of the region, and promotes the connection between this medium and these local agents and the global market.
The purpose of this web is to display the different services offered by the businesses, research groups, service companies, institutions and the units and research and technology centres, and the services offered by the Park itself.

Innovation is what distinguishes leaders from other people.

Vision and mission

Vision: Convert the Park into the most important promoter of economic knowledge and technology based development in the Girona region.

Mission: The ParcUdG must create, develop and expand:

- An attractive physical setting (buildings and environment)
- A set of scientific and technological facilities
- and services that lead to competitive advantages for knowledge based entities.
History
The Science and Technology Park of the University of Girona was first conceived at the end of the 90s. The idea first emerged between 1998 and 1999. The Rector of the time, Josep M. Nadal and the President of the Social Committee Jaume Casademont were looking for closer links between the University and its region. These ideas were finally given shape in an initial proposal drafted at the end of 1998. On the 28th December 2001 the Parc Científic Foundation was set up. 2004 saw the first building go up, the Jaume Casademont, to be followed by the Submarine Robotics Centre (2004), the New Food Technologies Centre (2005), the Business Centre (2006) and the Catalan Institute for Water Research (2007).
